SWIMMING POOL
The swimming pool of the University of Silesia is available to anyone interested. In 2022, the facility was comprehensively modernised and put into use again, which allowed for the introduction of a number of improvements.
Swimming pool and sauna opening hours:
from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. (9 p.m. – leaving the swimming pool and sauna)
Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (8 p.m. – leaving the swimming pool and sauna)

NOTE – Payment for the use of the swimming pool is accepted only via a payment card.
Technical data:
– dimensions: 25 m x 12.5 m
– depth: from 1.1 m to 3.6 m
– 6 swimming lanes
– diving tower: 3 m high
– there is no special zone for non-swimmers
The process of modernisation of the pool allowed for:
– introducing an Electronic Customer Service System (watches), which makes the visit convenient and comfortable. Entry to the swimming pool is possible at any time, and the time is measured with an accuracy of one minute (60 min basic time + 10 min added automatically),
– launching a new water treatment technology, automatic water analysis, changing water circulation in the basin, installation of a UV flow lamp for water disinfection,
– adapting the facility to the needs of people with disabilities,
– opening a saunarium,
– opening a conference and seminar room.

Pool water tests results are normal.
Additional information:
– in the swimming pool area a sports swimsuit (adhering to the body) is required,
– a swimming cap is not compulsory, however, it is recommended,
– in the pool area changeable footwear is required,
– customers are asked to bring some coins in order to use the shoe lockers (before entering the electronic customer service point). It is not possible to exchange money at the cash desk due to the cashless services in the facility.
FINNISH SAUNA
The quiet atmosphere is one of the many advantages of the Finnish sauna, the healing properties of which have been used for hundreds years by people who want to maintain a healthy body and spirit. A bath in the Finnish sauna, where the temperature reaches 100°C, involves a series of alternating overheating and cooling down the whole body, which significantly stimulates vitality and regenerates the body. According to doctors, the Finnish sauna is extremely beneficial in the treatment of respiratory diseases, rhinitis, colds and gynecological problems.
A new attraction of the swimming pool is a Finnish sauna, next to which a tub for cooling down the body has been placed. We have also prepared a place for rest and relaxation.
The sauna can be used by a maximum of 15 people at the same time.
The use of the sauna is an additional service for people using the swimming pool. In this case, a different price for using the swimming pool and sauna will apply – a combined ticket. Purchasing a sauna ticket enables the customers to use the swimming pool. However, purchasing a ticket to use the swimming pool does not enable the customers to use the sauna (a sauna ticket must be purchased before entering the Electronic Customer Service System zone).
